Newark to Gunthorpe
12 Miles 3 Locks
Heading upstream through Newark Town Bridge.
Heading towards Town Lock, the first of the day.
Exiting Town Lock and leaving Newark behind.
Cruising upstream past Fiskerton.
Queueing for Hazelford Lock.
A lock full of boats waiting to lock up.
And it's here we were delayed by the boat at the front having issues every time the sluice was opened.
Long term moorings above the lock with a wide range of craft.
There were plenty of old working narrowboats on the Trent. Guess there must have been an event somewhere.

Anna in Gunthorpe Lock. Anna unfortunately lost reverse on the way upstream so was proving to be a bit of a handful in the locks!

Day Four
Gunthorpe to High Marnham
26 Miles 5 Locks
It's a dismal wet day. Unfortunately for us we are heading back downstream on our own today and the rain is pouring down.
Still raining as we approach Hazelford and the lockies are not on duty yet so it' s self service.
Leaving Cromwell Lock in the company of dutch barge, Impulse and it is still raining.
Finally moored during a brief lull in the rain at High Marnham and ready for an evening in the pub.
Day Five
High Marnham to Burton Waters
15 miles 1 Lock
The Brownlow Arms at High Marnham.
A lovely church in the village of Low Marnham a short walk from the moorings.
This has the makings of a better day on the river.
Back to the pub for a swift pint before the tide starts to turn.
Heading downstream at high water.
Approaching the lock cut at Torksey.
In Torksey Lock, not far to go up today as we have arrived at high water.
Leaving the lock and heading for home.
Storm clouds are gathering over the Fossdyke again.
Tucked up safe and sound at Burton Waters after a well earned good scrub and wash inside and out.
