Entertaining Tonight

What with one thing and another, holidays, planning holidays, going on holidays, sorting the boat out to go on holidays, etc, etc it seems to have been a long time since we have had anyone around to our house for dinner.

So tonight we will be breaking this long absence and will be playing hosts to Liams mum Ronnie and her husband Jim. Although we speak on the phone often it seems such a long time since we last saw them face to face.

So last night we busied ourselves making sure the house was spick and span. The good thing about having a small house is that this doesnt take very long at all. The kitchen was the longest job, which of course I plumped for, as I washed down all of the cupboard doors, kitchen surfaces, then set about scrubbing the floor. It wasnt very dirty to start with but it looks so much better now for its good scrub.

So we and the house are now ready for tonights guests. I have picked a very easy meal for tonight of Lemon and herb mackerel, wholegrain pilau rice and side salad with a raspberry cheesecake for dessert so hopefully all should run smoothly.
